Skagit River Flyfishing Class - Full Day Float
Enjoy a great, educational day floating and fishing approximately 8 miles on the Skagit river. We meet at 8:30am at Howard Miller Steelhead Park and typically spend about 8-9 hours on the water. This class is appropriate for novice to intermediate fly anglers wishing to improve their understanding of flyfishing rivers and fishing more effectively with single and/or two-handed rods.
While we are fishing, this class is focused on providing you with knowledge, information and skills to go to any river in the Pacific Northwest and fish well on your own.
This in-depth "on-the-water" course is designed to increase your knowledge and improve your abilities on a variety of levels. You will gain understanding about reading rivers for flyfishing, the water column, river flows, what water to fish and which flies to use and when. We also cover various techniques of fly presentation on the surface with floating lines as well as the use of sinking tips. You will learn multiple techniques applicable to fishing all of our Pacific Northwest rivers. It is also important to understand your quarry. We'll talk a great deal about the life histories of the fish, their migratory patterns, run timing and how our finned friends think. In our time on the river, your casting proficiency will likely improve as well!
Three students/anglers per outing - $200 + tax per angler
