About Ed

My name is Ed Megill. I am a full service, full time flyfishing and whitewater guide in Washington State. When I started Cascades Expeditions, LLC, my thought was "I absolutely have to stay on the river". Since that point, I have been fortunate enough to meet some incredibly amazing people, accumulate a few river miles and have one of the most epic experiences of my life.
 
I was shown the water at an early age and never wanted to leave. Living in the Pacific Northwest, there is an endless supply of such and it would take an immense amount of time to see even a fraction of it. All I can say is, I'm doing my best.

The best part is, we’re almost always having a great time and usually chasing crazy fish or running nutty whitewater.

I have been lucky enough to fish and boat in some of the most beautiful places in the world, from the Tuamotu Archipelegos/French Polynesia, the Bahamas, the Yucatan Peninsula, the Gulf Coast, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Montana to British Columbia…and, of course, Washington.

Spending time on these rivers, creeks and streams is true love. The diversity and complexity of our far Pacific Northwest ecosystem, the variety of wildlife and the life histories of our anadromous fish is simply fascinating.

About Us

I work in close association with a few guides in Washington.

Cascades Expeditions, LLC is a network of dedicated, conservation-minded outfitters and  flyfishing and whitewater guides. If we are not guiding, you’ll likely find us fishing the rivers or running the whitewaters we guide. This affords us the opportunity to have up to date knowledge about many of our Pacific Northwest rivers.

Most individuals don’t have the opportunity to get out as much as we do. So whether its fishing small streams for rainbows, cutthroat or brookies, chasing our magical wild Steelhead, multi-day river expedition or running whitewater, we want your outing to be a super special experience. We, at Cascades Expeditions, will endeavor to make your trip educational, exciting and fun whether we're chasing our finned friends or viewing a couple of hundred eagles on the Skagit river in the snow.

A variety of styles of outings are available to accommodate most everyone’s wants, expectations, needs and budget. Services range from introductory flycasting lessons, flatwater eco-tours to full service, multi-day expeditions completely tailored to your liking.

We will always work hard to show you the very best time. There is great attention to detail and we always eat well on the river.
