Yakima River Fly FishingThe Yakima River is just a very special place located about 1 1/2 hours east of Seattle. Flyfishing the Yakima river for abundant rainbow, cutthroat We have the most experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated guides on the Yakima river. That coupled with the numbers of fish, diversity of wildlife, numerous species of birds, rolling hills and canyon walls make flyfishing the Yakima river a prime destination. In some sections, "The Yak” boasts over 1,000 fish per mile with some of its larger fish in the 20+” range. We try to primarily fish the Yakima with dry flies as bug life on the Yakima is usually nothing short of abundant with mayfly, stonefly and caddis hatches much of the year. That being said, occasionally these crazy fish have a mind of their own and we are required to explore other options. Nymphing can be highly effective on the Yakima. Swinging sub-surface flies on our 4 wt. Echo Dec Hogan Spey rods can be a blast as well when the dry fly action is a little slow. Basically, we’ll do everything we can to put you on the fish.
We host awesome overnight flyfishing experiences on the Yakima and offer some of the finest food in Kittitas County complete with dutch-oven dessert. Fire-side appetizers and first class accommodations are ready for you when you come off the river. One of my favorite attributes of the Yakima is it is an excellent river for overnight outings. My question is, "Why would you ever stay in a hotel or lodge when you can stay on the river?”
